About
Hello! I’m Garrett Krohn, a senior full-stack software engineer with a passion for terminal workflows, Neovim, and continuous learning.
My Background
My path to software engineering is unconventional. I hold a doctorate in music and spent years performing contemporary music that combined acoustic instruments with technology. After 10 years in higher education and music, I made the leap to software engineering when I started a family and needed a career with growth potential.
I took a Java bootcamp and landed my first role at Kipsu, a digital messaging company. Since then, I’ve developed a deep passion for developer tooling, terminal-based workflows, and building efficient systems.
What I Do
As a senior full-stack engineer, I work on web applications, CI/CD pipelines, and solving complex technical challenges. I’m particularly passionate about:
- Terminal workflows and productivity
- Neovim configuration and customization
- Ergonomic development setups
- Developer experience
Personal Life
I’m a proud husband and father to two energetic boys. When I’m not coding or spending time with my family, you can find me fishing or experimenting with keyboard layouts and developer tools.
Looking forward to connecting with you!
